and then you had paul ryan, who didn't want to dampen any of the enthusiasm, the romney ticket really see a bounce coming out of that first debate. they wanted to keep that momentum rolling. and the first blush this morning as the dust has settled, it looks like most of the pundits agree each of the men accomplished at least part of those goals. >> all right. jay gray, appreciate the update. the presidential one happens on tuesday. thank you very much. >>> now for a look at what this debate means for the election, we are joined by a professor at santa clara university who teaches debate. thanks for your time. >> thank you, marla. >> we spoke to you a little earlier and you gave each candidate, joe biden and paul ryan, a b plus in terms of their performance. joe biden came out a lot differently than president obama did in the presidential debate last week. do you think that this is a new tone for the campaign? >> absolutely. i think president obama is going to try and build on the energy and aggressiveness that joe biden showed last night. obviously being the president, he can't do som
